7 repetitive tasks you can stop doing today

October 13, 2026 · 7 min read · NOTVM team

It's not the big tasks that steal your day, it's the small ones: finding a file, pasting text into ChatGPT, putting an appointment in your calendar. Each one takes two minutes, but together they can add up to more than an hour. Here are seven you can stop doing today.

1. Searching for old files and emails

Where was that quote? Was it a PDF or an email? With NOTVM you ask in plain language: "How much did the supplier charge for maintenance?". It searches your documents, emails and folders, and answers citing where it found it.

2. Copy-pasting into ChatGPT

Copy some text, open another tab, paste it, type the question, copy the answer and go back. With NOTVM you ask directly about what's on your screen: "What are they asking me in this email?" or "Is there any risk in this clause?".

3. Putting appointments in your calendar

An email arrives proposing a meeting, and you have to open the calendar, create the event and copy the details. Just say "add this meeting to my calendar". NOTVM reads the details and creates the event after asking you to confirm.

4. Filing invoices and documents

Invoices piling up in Downloads are a classic. In NOTVM you can create automations: you show it once what to do (for example, move invoices to their folder) and it repeats it every time a new one arrives.

5. Searching for Slack messages

Finding "that thing Ana said in the marketing channel" can take a lot of scrolling. With Slack connected, ask "What did Ana say about the campaign in Slack?" or have it send a message for you.

6. Writing the same emails over and over

Confirming an appointment, sending a quote, reminding someone about a payment. Instead of looking for a template, dictate it in one sentence: "tell them we'll send the quote on Monday". NOTVM writes the full email, with a professional tone.

7. Reading long documents end to end

A 30-page contract or a long report. With the document open, ask "pull out the important dates" or "is there a penalty if we cancel?". NOTVM reads the whole document, not just what's visible on screen.

None of these tasks is hard, which is why you never think about changing them. But together they are a big part of your workday. Handing them off doesn't make you work faster: it gives you time for what really matters.
